Slavic Studies is a scientific journal in the field of Slavic languages, literatures and cultures. It has been published regularly since 1997, and since 2018, two volumes have been published annually. The journal publishes original papers in the field of Slavic philology, theoretical linguistics and literature, history of Slavic studies and related scientific disciplines, as well as scientific criticism, chronicles and bibliographies. The journal brings together a broad academic community that studies all Slavic languages, literatures and cultures.
The journal is published by the Slavic Society of Serbia and the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, and the publication of the journal is funded by the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia.
The basic idea of the editorial policy is to connect researchers from the country and abroad, as well as ideas and perspectives from different disciplines that together offer a more complete view of Slavic diversity and unity.
An important mission of the journal is to strive to view Slavic languages and literatures from a broader typological and comparative-historical perspective.
The journal’s pages trace the development of various philological trends in contemporary Slavic studies at the turn of the century, as well as the emergence of new tendencies in the research on linguistic and literary Slavic topics.
The advisory board of the Slavic Studies journal is made up of eminent experts in the field of Slavic studies from 18 countries (Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Montenegro, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine and the USA).
The journal publishes research in all Slavic languages, as well as in English. Scientific papers published in the journal are reviewed by at least two competent experts, both of whom are external reviewers. The review process is double-blind.
There is no charge for the admission and publication of the papers.
